ROAD FC has announced the initial round of bouts for ROAD FC 53, which will take place on 18 May on Jeju Island in South Korea.
Kickboxing legend Jerome Le Banner will make his debut with ROAD FC against China’s “Heavyweight Supernova” Aorigele.
Aorigele (7-3) is a China National Sanda champion who incoming off five back-to-back KOs over Yukuke Kawaguchi and Bob Sapp.
In the opening round of ROAD FC’s Openweight Grand Prix Aorigele finished Kim Jae-Hun early in the third round.
Le Banner is one of the most recognisable figures in the world of kickboxing. The French-born martial artist has won multiple titles during almost three decades of fighting under striking rules.
Le Banner has fought in well over one hundred matches across kickboxing, boxing, and MMA. His kickboxing record is 83-22 with an impressive 67 wins by knockout.
He has defeated the likes of Tyrone Spong, Musashi, Remy Bojansky, Gary Goodridge, Mark Hunt and Choi Hong-Man.
Le Banner has competed in MMA since 2001 with a record of 3-3. He was expected to debut one year ago at ROAD FC 47 in Bejing, but was sidelined with a knee injury.
Two more fights have also been added to ROAD FC 53.
Tamotsu Hayashi (6-4) will look to get his second win over Firefighter Fighter Shin Dong-Guk (2-1) in a lightweight rematch., while two 90kg prospects will face off, Lim Dong-hwan (3-3) and Kim Tae-In (1-0).
The event will also see the final match for the Lightweight Tournament as ROAD FC lightweight champion Kwon A-Sol (21-10) meets tournament winner Mansour Barnaoui.
