After dominating ONE Championship’s welterweight division “Funky” Ben Askren (18–0, 1 NC) announced his retirement from MMA in September last year, but continued to campaign for a shot in UFC.
Last month ONE announced it would release Askren to the UFC in exchange for Demetrious Johnson, a former UFC flyweight champion and all-time record holder for title defenses.
The main event of UFC 233 will see a champion vs. champion showdown in T.J. Dillashaw vs. Henry Cejudo for the UFC flyweight title.
