Christian “The Warrior” Lee may only have stepped up to compete on five days’ notice, but he delivered arguably the most important performance of his career before calling for an interim title bout with a former world champion.
Lee finished former King of Pancrase Kazuki Tokudome in just over three minutes after rocking the Japanese star, then taking his back and finishing him with ground and pound.
The win was notable in that it compared favourably with former ONE World Champion Narantungalag Jadambaa, who could only defeat Tokudome by decision.
Lee referenced that fact in his post-fight interview and called for an interim title fight with Jadambaa next. It was an appropriate call-out and, after a performance like that, it’s one that the ONE matchmaking committee may pay close attention to.
