Ham Seo-Hee gets a shot at ROAD’s atomweight title

After signing with Korea’s ROAD FC in March former UFC fighter Seo-Hee Ham is making her return to Korea with a shot at ROAD FC’s inaugural women’s atomweight title.

An opponent has yet to be announced, but the title fight will headline the all-female MMA ROAD FC 40 card at the Grand Hilton Convention Centre in Seoul on 11 June.

Fighting out of Team MAD, Ham (17-8, ) is a pioneer for women’s MMA in South Korea. She made her professional MMA debut 10 years ago in DEEP 28 Impact against Hisae Watanabe and won by decision.

Over the next seven years, Ham racked up an impressive record of 12-5 fighting at 48 and 52 kgs, and earned wins over the likes of Mei Yamaguchi, Emi Fujino, and Naho Sugiyama.

She made her debut at ROAD FC in 2014 and won back to back matches against Alyona Rassohyna and Shino VanHoose.

After claiming the Deep Jewels Featherweight title from Saori Ishioka, Ham was snapped up by the UFC and made history as the first female fighter from South Korea in the promotion.

After going 1-3 with the promotion Ham was released by the UFC and made a return to native South Korea.

An opponent for her atomweight title shot is expected soon.
