GrandSlam 2 takes place on February 8, 2015 at Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan. Headlining the event will be Masakatsu Ueda’s return to Japan against surging Victor Henry.
Ueda’s been plying his trade in ONE FC since a 1-fight stint with Bellator in 2012. Ueda quickly ascended to the top of the division, but couldn’t pull out a win in a 5-round title challenge against Bibiano Fernandes. He now returns home to fight and his next opponent will be the surging Henry.
Henry is a protege of Josh Barnett. He made a name for himself at GrandSlam 1 by knocking out Hideo Tokoro in the first round. Henry’s grappling should be quite interesting against Ueda, should it go to the ground, but in any case it’s a huge step for him to face another world-class opponent in Japan.
Also on the card, fan favorite Flying Monkey No. 2 will face undefeated Hayato Suzuki in what promises to be a fast-paced ridiculously active flyweight match. Imanari will face fellow leg lock aficionado Kenichi Ito.
