The UFC has announced its first event in Shenzhen will take place on 31 August at the Universiade Sports Centre.
The show marks the third year in a row that the UFC has hosted an event in China.
No main event has been announced, but one likely candidate is top-10 ranked women’s strawweight Zhang Weili.
“We continue to add new cities in China to our global calendar of events, and we are excited to see the momentum that is steadily building,” Kevin Chang, UFC Senior Vice President Asia-Pacific, said.
“China is the most important growth market for UFC, and our ongoing success is a testament to the loyalty of our passionate fans, the on-going support from our partners.
UFC Fight Night Shenzhen comes after the promotion has held events in Shanghai and Beijing.
The promotion is also set to open a new state-of-the-art Performance Institute in Shanghai’s Jing’An district in June.
Expect to see more of the UFC’s top Chinese athletes scheduled to compete on this card.
