Aung La N Sang and Brandon Vera capped off a huge weekend for ONE Championship in Tokyo, with a title defense that may very well go down as one of its best.
The main event of ONE: Century saw two-division champion “The Burmese Python” defend his light heavyweight belt against the heavyweight king.
As the bell rang, a game Aung La N Sang stalked down Vera with precision strikes. But it didn’t take long for Vera to find his groove.
As the opening round continued, Vera found his rhythm and started to connect. At one point he even went for the Thai clinch and looked to do damage with his knees. No easy feat for a man of his stature.
At one point, “The Burmese Python” tumbled to the floor, but quickly bounced back up.
In front of a screaming audience, they went to war, trading heavy blows from all angels. Vera continued to switch things up and attacked his rival, even causing him to slip a few times.
As the second round hit midway point, the heavyweight champ started to slow and Aung La pounced. He rocked the Filipino-American and fell to the ground where Aung La went to work.
