ONE FC announced via their Facebook page today that Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao has become the newest stakeholder in the company.

According to Bleacher Report, the Pac-Man is estimated to be worth $100 million USD. He also owns a share of a team in the Philippine Basketball Association.

With an undisclosed amount of shares, the WBO welterweight champion becomes the latest high-profile combat sports notable to link with ONE FC, following the recent appointment of UFC light heavyweight Rich Franklin as Vice-President and Filipino-American UFC vet Brandon Vera to the fight roster. Additionally, Filipina-American boxing star Ana Julaton will make her second MMA fight on the next ONE FC card in Dubai on August 29th.

Pacquiao’s investment comes ahead of ONE FC’s return to Manila on December 5th, stated in an announcement on Kevin Iole’s Yahoo! Sports Boxing blog.

Pacquiao has recently been reported to plan on retiring from his boxing career in 2016 to refocus on national politics. He first was elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and re-elected in 2013.
