ONE Warrior Series contender Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg has earned himself a spot on the ONE Championship roster.
At ONE Warrior Series 6 last Thursday, Zoltsetseg put on a solid performance to finish his opponent Hyun Jin Lee in just over a minute. The win earned Zoltsetseg a “six-figure” contract and a spot on ONE’s talent-heavy lightweight division.
Zoltsetseg has gone 4-1 in the Warrior Series, defeating the likes of Ali Motamed and Chan Samart on his way to a ONE contract.
Also, Xie Xiao Xiang, Michele Ferreira, Satomi Takano, Ji Yeon Seo, Myeong Gu Kim and Jerry Olsim, each received a bonus for their efforts on last week’s show.
Rich Franklin, who heads up the Warrior Series, said OWS 6 was the most exciting ONE Warrior Series event to date.
“As the competition continues to grow fierce, the bouts become better and better,” he said.
“In the end, it was Shine who impressed the most and we feel he is ready for the bright lights of the ONE Championship circle. He has definitely earned this contract. I look for him to do big things in ONE.”
Born and raised in Mongolia, Zoltsetseg has been competing since 2010. A multiple-time national champion in kickboxing, sanda and boxing, Zoltsetseg also represented Mongolia in boxing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro.
