Indonesia’s top MMA promotion ONE Pride MMA is bringing out some big guns for its 30th show.

Three of the promotion’s champions will defend their titles on Saturday 27 July as the welterweight, lightweight and strawweight belts go up for grabs.

A long-running feud between reigning welterweight champion Rudy Gunawan and Theodorus Ginting will be settled when the pair meet in what will likely serve as the main event.

The undefeated Gunawan (9-0) has reigned over ONE Pride’s welterweight division since 2017, when he snatched the belt from Angga Hans with a blistering 19-second knockout. Since then not a single one of his fights have gone past the first round.

Like his next opponent, Ginting (5-0) has a penchant for stoppages. Not one of his five fights have gone past the second round.

Knockouts Galore

Reigning lightweight champion Jeka Saragih is set to defend his title against undefeated challenger Hendrik Tarigan.

After losing his debut fight in 2016, Saragih (6-1) has gone on to rack up five back-to-back wins, claiming the lightweight title along the way.

His next fight against the surging Tarigan will be his third title defense and should produce some serious fireworks. A former amateur standout, Tarigan has remained undefeated with ONE Pride MMA. Three out of his last four fights have been stopped via ground and pound.

Surging Strawweights

ONE Pride is also putting its strawweight title on the line as Gunawan (8-1) defends the belt for a fourth time against Edowar Virnanda.

After four back-to-back wins, Gunawan defeated Brando Mamana to claim the ONE Pride strawweight belt in September 2017.

His title defences have been nothing short of impressive. This past March he finished Zaenudin with a first round rear-naked choke to take his unbeaten run to eight wins.

Gunawan vs. Virnanda will serve as an entertaining fight, with both men bringing strong opposing strategy to the bout.

Gunawan is a gold medalist on the local amateur Sanda scene, while Virnanda is a natural entertainer with an eccentric character.

Additional bouts for the 27 July show will be announced soon.
