Pancrase 291 took place at the Differ Ariake on 12 November where Yuki Niimura was crowned the new middleweight King of Pancrase with a win over his rival Rocky Kawamura.
Niimura lost against Kawamura last October and wanted revenge. The fight was an all-out battle with boxing and finally the champ fell down. After the fight the new champ Niimura thanked for the team member’s supporting.
“I could not have got this belt alone. I got this with all my team member’s effort,” he said.
In the semi final main event, former Shooto and ONE Championship fighter Masakatsu Ueda took on Brazilian and who has strong physical, Alan “Hiro” Yamaniha. The fight started out with a technical display of MMA and finally Ueda subbed Alan with a beautiful armbar at the end of the third round. Ueda showed his strength at this fight.
Young bantamweight star Kenta Takizawa took BFN, FWC and Shooto-Brazil fighter Alexandre Cirne. Takizawa wanted to show his strength as a world-class thru Cirne but Cirne’s striking was strong. Finally the referee stopped the fight.
