ROAD FC atomweight champion Ham Seo-Hee has been added to the RIZIN 17 lineup, but her opponent is not yet clear.
During Sunday’s broadcast of RIZIN 16, Ham was on hand to challenge the winner of Ayaka Hamasaki and Jinh Yu Frey’s super atomweight championship bout.
Hamasaki went on to take a unanimous decision win three rounds and put a stop to Frey’s plan to claw back a loss from their first fight in 2016.
If all falls into place, we may well see Ham face Hamasaki at the Saitama Arena on 28 July and cement her place as one of the all-time greats of the women’s atomweight division.
“Hamderlei” made her debut at ROAD FC in 2014 and won back-to-back matches against Alyona Rassohyna and Shino VanHoose.
After claiming the Deep Jewels Featherweight title from Saori Ishioka, she was snapped up by the UFC and made history as the first female fighter from South Korea in the promotion.
After going 1-3 with the promotion, Ham was released by the UFC and return to South Korea where she was crowned atomweight champion with a third round TKO over Kurobe Mina.
