Three new bouts have been added to the RIZIN 17 lineup, including the promotional debut of ROAD FC atomweight champion Ham Seo Hee.
RIZIN returns to the Saitama Arena on 28 July and has lined up an intriguing women’s atomweight bout that sees the ROAD FC champ face DEEP Jewels champion Tomo Maesawa.
Undefeated jiu-jitsu prospect Roberto Satoshi is set to face Mizuto Hirota, while Jake Heun returns to welcome “The Dancing Russian” Vitaly Shemetov to RIZIN.
After claiming the Deep Jewels featherweight title, Ham (20-8) made history as the first female fighter from South Korea to sign with the UFC.
She returned home in 2016 to win the ROAD FC atomweight title and has defended it twice.
DEEP Jewels champion Maesawa (12-9) is coming off a loss to Kanna Asakura at Deep Jewels 23, her title was not on the line and the champ is now set to make her RIZIN debut.
Other bouts on the RIZIN 17 card include a potential qualifying bout for the Lightweight Grand Prix between Mikuru Asakura and Yusuke Yachi.
Former Pancrase champion Shintaro Ishiwatari meets grapping ace Ulka Sasaki, while former DEEP champion Yuki Motoya face TUF 24 runner-up and current Shooto champion Hiromasa Ogikubo.
