ROAD Fighting Championship will be back in action on 18 May, but the Korean promotion is already looking ahead.
ROAD will head back to its hometown of Wonju in South Korea on 15 June, where middleweight champion La In-Jae defends his title for the first time against top challenger Yang Hae-Jun.
La (8-0-1) defeated long-time Korean MMA fighter “Ryo” Choi Young in a blazing three round battle to claim the middleweight title at ROAD FC 48.
He will now meet Team Posse’s Yang (12-6), a veteran of the sport who rose to international acclaim at Legend FC.
Yang has been the powerful, threatening knockout artist with an increasing cache of weapons in his arsenal. Although he lost his highly anticipated return against Michel Pereira, he came back to choke out Lim Dong-Hwan at ROAD FC 52.
Next up for the promotion is the long-anticipated lightweight championship defense by Kwon A-Sol as he takes on $1 Million Tournament winner Mansour Barnaoui.
The co-main event of ROAD FC 53 will see the return of young Chinese heavyweight standout Aorigele against kickboxing legend Jérôme Le Banner.
