The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega are set to headline the UFC’s return to Korea, as UFC Fight Night 165 makes its way to Busan on 21 December.
The promotion has announced fan favourites Brian “T-City” Ortega and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung will square off in the UFC’s final event of 2019 inside the Sajik Arena.
Ortega (14-1) steps back into the Octagon after a year on the sidelines, following his war with UFC featherweight champion Max “Blessed” Holloway.
A submission specialist who has finished his last six victories in a row, Ortega holds impressive wins over Frankie Edgar, Cub Swanson and Renato Moicano. Now, he looks to bounce back from the first loss of his career and prove he is still the top contender in the division.
Competing in South Korea for the first time under the UFC banner, Jung (15-5) looks to remain undefeated while fighting in his home country.
One of the biggest fan favorites on the roster, former title challenger owns dominant first-round KO wins over Renato Moicano, Dennis Bermudez and Mark Hominick.
Previously announced for UFC Busan is no. 4-ranked UFC flyweight contender Alexandre “The Cannibal” Patonja (21-3) who faces no. 10-ranked Matt “Danger” Schnell (13-4).
Top light heavyweights clash as no. 7-ranked contender Volkan Oezdemir (16-4) meets no. 10 ranked Aleksander Rakic (12-1).
