Earlier this week “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung-jung teased fans with a social media post hinting a UFC return was on the cards, now it seems there is an opponent in the wings.

The UFC has booked The Korean Zombie to face Renato Moicano at UFC Greenville on 22 June, according to Brazilian news outlet Combate.

Both men are coming off losses to top-10 opponents. Last November Chan turned in a Fight of the Year performance against Yair Rodriguez, losing to a spectacular back-elbow in the final seconds of the fight.

Moicano will also be looking to bounce back after a recent second round TKO against featherweight legend Jose Aldo.

Syuri Kondo Returns

Already booked for UFC Greenville is an exciting women’s strawweight match up between Japan’s combat queen Syuri Kondo and grappling specialist Ashley Yoder.

Syrui Kondo on her way to a successful UFC debut in Japan. “I just love to fight,” she says.

Kondo (6-2) will make the walk for a fourth time when she steps out to face Yoder.

Kondo made her UFC debut with a split decision win over Jeon Chan-Mi in Japan, but the 30-year-old from southern Kanagawa Prefecture has fallen short in her last two UFC outings.

At UFC Fight Night 141 in Beijing she dropped a unanimous decision loss to Yan Xiaonan and prior to that suffered a first round TKO at the hands of Poliana Botelho.

UFC Greenville will be the promotion’s first-event at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in South Carolina 23 June. A main event is yet to be announced, but with speculation now running rife – expect some news soon.
