Fresh from a first-round armbar finish of American Lauren Mueller in Beijing, Wu Yanan has been lined up to face Luana Carolina at UFC 237.
UFC confirmed the women’s flyweight bout will take place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday 11 May, where Rose Namajunas will square off against Jessica Andrade for the strawweight championship.
Wu (10-2) signed with the UFC in September 2017 after a successful run with Chinese promotion Kunlun Fight and CKF. Wu has gone 1-1 with the UFC, losing her debut in Shanghai to Gina Mazany, but returned with a win in Beijing last November.
After landing a spot on Dana White’s Contender Series, Luana Carolina (5-1) will now make her debut on the big stage. The Brazilian is riding of a five-fight win streak, with two of her previous fights going the distance.
UFC 237 is set to feature a middleweight bout between former champion Anderson Silva and Jared Cannonier.
