For the past two days Ramona Pascual has been pushed to the edge and back – but it’s been worth it.
The former ROAD FC bantamweight is among 25 athletes to receive a scholarship to the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai, after an intensive two-day trial with UFC Academy Combine.
Academy Combine is the company’s first-ever talent evaluation to offer athletes a platform to showcase their skills and abilities for a potential career in MMA.
Pascual will now spend the next six months at the UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai working towards a spot on the UFC roster.
“This is the biggest opportunity of my career,” she said. “I’m really looking forward to making the most out of it.”
“I’ll be here at the PI for the next six months developing myself as much as I can to be ready for the UFC.”
The UFC Academy Combine is part of the new 93,000 square foot UFC Performance Institute in the city’s Jing’An district. The event was invite only and hosted approximately 50 athletes.
