When you have Bollywood talent and a bankroll of millions, you can get anything done in India. Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt of Super Fight League are proving it. With a country in the nascent stages of MMA sport knowledge and appreciation, the power duo are forging ahead anyway, and not only paving a road but clearing a whole forest to make room for it.

Upon the final episode of the SFL Challengers television reality show, came the announcement that the promotion has decided to take a turn in a different direction – away from mega stadium events – to a more intimate audience of presumably comfy couch-seated stars and moguls produced for a live broadcast. Not content with announcing a full card weeks in advance, they will be hosting an event every Friday starting October 12th. There will be women’s matches alongside local Indian’s matches, and a main event which could see SFL pulling from its accumulation of well-known athletes like Jeff Monson, Satoshi Ishii, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.

To prove its commitment to developing Women’s MMA, SFL will partner with Invicta FC of the USA, the first and only all-female promotion in the US that is also partnering with Japan’s JEWELS female promotion. The possibility for showcasing Invicta FC athletes on an SFL event exists, as does an avenue for international exposure for homegrown talents.

Fights will be taking place every week live from a specially designed arena in Mumbai in front of an exclusive invitation only audience. Programming will last for three hours each week with weigh-ins, live fights and interviews from Bollywood cage side guests. This announcement makes SFL India’s first and only sports league delivering year round live events and India’s first and only pro MMA Organisation to be live-streamed weekly across the globe; making it one of the largest MMA content providers in the world.

SFL is also pleased to announce its proud association with the Olympics Female Boxing Bronze medal winner Mary Kom as its Brand ambassador.

SFL has successfully executed three stadium events since its launch in January 2012 along with a reality show, SFL Challengers, which has educated the Indian audience and created a domestic appetite for the sport.

Invicta Fighting Championships Forms Strategic Alliance with Super Fight League to Develop Women’s MMA Talent out of India

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Sept. 24th, 2012) – Invicta Fighting Championships and India-based Super Fight League announced today that the two Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotions have formed a strategic alliance to develop women’s MMA talent out of India.

The relationship is intended to support Invicta FC’s goals of identifying the best women’s fight talent around the globe and producing the best possible matchups between women’s mixed martial artists while, at the same time, providing Super Fight League with a means of promoting MMA to a broader demographic in its homeland.
