PANCRASE297 took place on 1st July 2018 at FULL HOUSE of STUDIO COAST.

Due to 11th Welter Weight King of PANCRASE Daichi Abe’s devoting to UFC, the fight between Takashi Sato from TRIBE TOKYO M.M.A and Glaico Franca from Brazil was set for next King of PANCRASE. Sato trained hard in Singapore (EVOLVE Gym) and America (HARD KNOCKS 365) for this fight. He said that “The opponent Franca is the strongest fighter in my fight career but I want to win to make next step.” in the promotion movie. In the first half of the fight, Sato competed dominantly with blows, but at last Franca who were strong in ground fight caught Sato with rear choke at 4th round. After winning Franca collapsed into his spot and cried in front of the picture of his deceased his friend fighter.

Current light weight King of PANCRASE Takasuke Kume took CAGE light weight champion Anton Kuivanen from Finland. In the beginning of the fight Kume threw many punches to reduce the distance according to his plan and his strikes were effective to Kuivanen but finally Kuivanen beat Kume out with his strong strikes. The referee stopped this fight. After the winning Kuivanen ran up to the cage and said that “ I feel very happy. I was longing since I was small and I saw fights of PANCRASE and my hero Bus Rutten. I came to Japan for the first time, I tried my best to win the result. Thank you.”

The young and strong fighter from TRIBE TOKYO M.M.A Yuya Wakamatsu got first lost at the title match against Senzo Ikeda last February. It was his return fight. The opponent was former fly weight King of PANCRASE Mamoru Yamaguchi. At 2nd round Wakamatsu rushed with punch and the referee stopped. After winning Wakamatsu disclosed his wish to fight at ONE Championship.

After the fifth fight, Mr. Akitoshi Tamura appeared. Mr. Tamura became acute subdural hematoma at the fight on last February 5 against Yuki Nakahara and was delivered to the emergency room. He was forced to retire and continues rehabilitation now. PANCRASE has used “MMA Unified Rule” for years with the basis “WORLD STANDARD”. But in response to Mr. Tamura ‘s advice, PANCRASE decided to change its rule. 1st is accepting the second towel throwing into the cage to stop the fight and 2nd is allowing doctors to stop and to check fighter’s condition at any time during the fight.
