DEEP JEWELS 5 stacks up for 8/9 with Hamasaki, Sugi Rock, Tomimatsu, Inoue

DEEP has announced the the next Jewels event for August 8, 2014. Three Champions will be featured: Ayaka Hamasaki, Emi Tomimatsu, and Naho Sugiyama.

Hamasaki was the first Jewels Lightweight Champion. She went on to face Claudia Gadelha in the Invicta Strawweight Championship. After that, Hamasaki took a break to recover from injury, but on DEEP Jewels 5 she will return to the ring.

Tomimatsu most recently went up against hot prospect Mizuki Inoue for the Lightweight belt. Inoue submitted her in the third, but because she missed weight, Tomimatsu was awarded the interim title. Now she will be putting it on the line against an unannounced opponent.

Sugiyama “Sugi Rock” was the first Jewels Featherweight Champion. She competed against Jessica Penne for Invicta’s first Atomweight Championhip. Putting two losses behind her – one to rising Celine Haga and top ranked Ham Seo-Hee – Sugi Rock claimed back to back wins older the new DEEP banner.

Also announced for the event are the afore-mentioned Inoue, Miyoko Kusaka, Yuko “Amiba” Oya, and Tamagi Usui.
