Emi Fujino, top ranked female MMA fighter from Japan, has signed with World Series of Fighting.
Sources close to the situation confirm that Emi “Kamikaze Angel” Fujino has executed a contract with WSOF. She then posted the news to her Facebook page. Her debut can be expected in early 2014. WSOF has partnered with Japanese promotion Pancrase, however a date for a planned co-promotion has not been narrowed down for the first half of the year.
Fujino (13-7) has been one of the mainstays of female MMA in Japan for almost a decade, since the iconic SmackGirl was producing events. In her entire career, Fujino has never been finished. The Wajutsu Keishikai GODS fighter is now 33 but shows no signs of slowing down. She was recently in the DEEP Jewels Lightweight Tournament and dropped a decision to the up and coming prodigy Mizuki Inoue. Fujino has wins over Amber Brown, Mika Nagano, Celine Haga and Mei Yamaguchi.
