The initial bouts for Pancrase 305 have been announced.
The Japanese promotion returns to Studio Coast on Sunday 26 May for its fourth event of the year and has lined up a critical flyweight bout.
Former Flyweight King of Pancrase Mamoru Yamaguchi (31-12-5) will return after an eight-month haitus to face Toru Ogawa (10-7) in a flyweight showdown.
Since losing his flyweight belt to Senzo Ikeda at Pancrase 289, the No. 4-ranked Yamaguchi went on to drop a second round loss to Yuya Wakamatsu at Pancrase 297.
Ogawa will be looking to get back into the winning column.
From 2014 to 2017 he was on a tear, picking up eight consecutive wins. More recently has been unable to sustain that momentum. His rollercoaster record has seen pick up two wins against three losses, the most recent against Masatatsu Ueda at Pancrase 302.
The preliminary card of Pancrase 305 will see the semi-final rounds of the of the Neo Blood bantamweight, flyweight and strawweight tournaments.
Next up for the promotion is Pancrase 303 on 17 March where Rafael Silva (29-6) defends his bantamweight belt against surging Japanese prospect Kenta Takizawa (9-4).
