Pancrase 269 has added a high-value match to an already stacked card as Lightweight King of Pancrase ISAO makes the drop to 145 to face the world’s tallest featherweight, Will Chope.
Both fighters sit at the top of regional rankings; ISAO is one of Japan’s top lightweights and Chope continues to enjoy finishes over surprising opponents. Even with recent controversies affecting them (Isao’s last opponent Marlon Sandro was vocal on social media about the biased split decision that didn’t go his way, and Chope missed weight in the Rebel FC tournament which gave Miguel Torres a bye to the finals), both fighters will come into this match with their stock remaining relatively high.
ISAO is not only challenging himself with a weight cut, but taking on the rangiest opponent in the world to do it. Chope is getting a huge test as the champ drops down to take him on. I believe that their styles will bring out the best in each other.
At the top of the card will be the massive veteran Shannon Ritch getting his limelight in Japan against the endearing Hikaru Sato. ROAD FC lightweight contender Kume Takasuke has a detached retina and is out of his bout against JMMA stalwart Eiji Ishikawa, so Ishikawa will now meet Chris Man. Yoshiaki Takahashi is a bright star with bad luck who will get the chance to climb back up the rankings against Hiroki Nagaoka.
Check out the card below for more amazing matches, including Mamoru, Eric Prindle, Kenta Takagi, and Yuki Niimura versus Bahktiyar Abbasov.
