After more than a year away from competition, women’s MMA veteran Rin Nakai is set to return for Deep Jewels 24 on 9 June.
The former Bantamweight Queen of Pancrase has been lined up against young Thai hopeful Kaewjai Prachumwong, as the main event of the eight-fight card.
Briefly signed to the UFC, Nakai has emerged as one of the more fascinating characters in Japanese MMA.
She made her UFC debut against Miesha Tate at UFC Fight Night 52, but lost via unanimous decision. Nakai went on to take one more fight with the UFC, but again lost a UD to Leslie Smith.
Since then the 32-year-old has remained undefeated competing with the likes of Pancrase, RIZIN and DEEP.
Deep Jewels 24 is set for Shinjuku Face in Tokyo with a kick-off time of 6pm. Also on the bill is an atomweight bout between Emi Tomimatsu (14-14) and Emi Sato (4-3).
