TOP FC 2 features an 8-man Featherweight tournament on May 30th

TOP FC has announced their next event will take place on May 30, 2013. TOP FC 2 will be the second all-professional event and features an 8-man Featherweight Tournament of predominantly Korean talent.

Throughout the last year, TOP FC has been promoting an amateur series and semi-pro events since its inception. The next event will be live streamed and details will follow as we have them.

Three of the front runners of the seven players already signed are Han Seung-Hwa, Choi Yeong-Gwang, and Kim Jae-Woong.

Han rides a 2-fight win streak following back and forth results in Japan and Korea. Prior to that he was Kim Jong-Man’s fodder upon the Sengoku vet’s return to the ring. He is very willing to engage which makes him an exciting fighter, yet leaves him prone to the lopsided record he owns. The tournament format should prove to be a growing experience.

Choi struggled in his Spirit MC beginnings, then found strong footing in the international competition of Legend FC. However, in his first outing after the promotion closed saw him KOed in the first by the afore-mentioned Han as top billing at Top FC – National League 2. Should he have a chance to get a win in the semis prior to a possible rematch, Choi may once again gain his footing.

Kim is a mixed bag. He’s most recently claimed a huge decision win over Wataru Miki at VTJ, and faced Kazuyuki Miyata when he was just an 0-1 fighter. A tournament win will go a long way for the 21-year old prospect.
