UFC has signed top South Korean prospect Choi Seung-Woo.
The 26-year-old is set to make his UFC debut on 21 April where he will face Movsar Evloev in the promotion’s first-ever event in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The TOP FC featherweight champion carries a 7-1 record, having competed with TFC in his amateur and professional career.
His opponent Evloev brings an unblemished 10-0 record to UFC, having competed solely with M-1 Challenge since 2014.
In December 2017 Choi faced Kim Jae-Woong for TFC’s featherweight belt, running back a loss from the previous year. Choi won the title, but has been unable to defend due to injury.
His signing comes just weeks after UFC signed another South Korean featherweight prospect and TFC alumni Jo Sung-Bin (9-0).
No date has been set Jo’s debut, but with Dana White talking up an event in Korea in 2019, we might see him sooner rather than later.
